좋은 와인이 경매에서 소매가보다 꽤 싸게 낙찰되는 일이 드물지 않습니다. 그런데 그 사실 자체가 잘 알려져 있지 않습니다. 낙찰 결과는 회차별로 흩어져 공개되고, 국제 소매가와 하나씩 대조해 보기 전에는 “이게 싼 값인지”를 알 수 없기 때문입니다. 그래서 항공권 비교처럼 한자리에서 값을 비교하도록 만들었습니다.
지금까지 소매가를 대조한 923건의 평균 할인은 14.4%, 중앙값은 22.5% 입니다 — 실지불 기준(낙찰가 + 바이어 프리미엄 24% 가정)입니다. [참고] 해머(낙찰가)만 보면 평균 30.9%, 소매가 이상은 60건입니다. 가장 최근 회차(SG53-1)만 보면 676랏 평균 10.1%, 중앙값 18.5% 이고, 이 가운데 소매가보다 싸게 낙찰된 랏은 515건(평균 25.0%), 소매가와 같은 값이 1건, 소매가 이상은 160건이었습니다.

Good wine is bought at auction well below retail more often than people think. That fact simply is not widely known. Results are published sale by sale, scattered, and until you match each one against international retail you cannot tell “whether this was actually cheap”. So we built it to compare prices in one place, the way you compare flights.
Across the 923 lots matched to a retail price so far, the average discount is 14.4% and the median is 22.5% — on an all-in basis (hammer price plus an assumed 24% buyer's premium). [For reference] on hammer price alone the average is 30.9%, and 60 lots sold at or above retail. Looking at the most recent sale (SG53-1) alone: 676 lots, average 10.1%, median 18.5%. Of those, 515 lots sold below retail (average 25.0%), 1 matched retail exactly, and 160 sold at or above retail.

We currently cover this one house in Singapore, and will widen coverage in line with the roadmap.
